Celebrity Gladiators, The Traitors and SAS Rogue Heroes: Best New Year’s Day TV

Celebrity Gladiators, The Traitors season 3 and SAS Rogue Heroes season 2 are all new and on TV Tonight as BBC One delivers an epic night of programming to begin 2025.

At 6pm, the Gladiators are back, and even tougher than before, as four brave celebrities face them in a special edition of the iconic series.

Joining hosts Bradley and Barney Walsh are Rob Beckett, Joel Dommett, Louise Minchin and Ellie Taylor, who have bravely left their comfort zones to face the superhuman Gladiators in a series of brutal events before going head-to-head in the legendary Eliminator.

Expect blood, sweat and teardowns in the arena, as well as a battle on and off the duel podium. Has Legend finally met his match in this Celebrity Special?

At 7pm, Gavin & Stacey: A Fond Farewell is a brand new documentary looking at the long-running series and the making of the feature length finale.

The Traitors returns for a brand new series at 8pm. Claudia Winkleman greets a group of strangers as they arrive at a beautiful castle in the Scottish Highlands to play the ultimate prestige reality game of detection, back-stabbing and trust, all in the hope of winning up to £120,000. And it’s not long before the players are questioning everything and everyone as Claudia secretly assigns the Traitors.

Their task is simple. Under the cover of darkness, they must pick off their fellow players one by one, murdering them out of the game. The Faithful must try to work out who the Traitors are in their midst, banishing them from the game before becoming their next victim. The lucky ones who make it to the final have a chance of winning the life-changing cash prize. But if a Traitor remains, they’ll steal all the money.

Then at 9pm, season 2 of SAS: Rogue Heroes. With a new mission and the threat of disbandment facing the SAS, an ally is found with a familiar name.
