News about Alan Carr's Picture Slam returning for a third series and how to apply

Alan Carr’s Picture Slam, the Saturday night family favorite, is set to return to BBC One and iPlayer later this year for a third series and you can now apply for the chance to take part.

This highly addictive quiz show, hosted by Alan Carr, challenges contestants to demonstrate their knowledge and quick thinking in a series of fast-paced rounds. The goal? Identify as many pictures as possible for a shot at winning the £10,000 jackpot.

The 2024 series averaged an impressive 3.2 million viewers across its run, peaking at 4.1 million, making it the second most-watched entertainment show during teatime.

Debuting in 2023, Alan Carr’s Picture Slam was the BBC’s biggest entertainment launch of the year and the second-largest new entertainment show across the industry.

Alan Carr shared his excitement: “I’m absolutely thrilled that Picture Slam is back for a third series. This show is such a joy – it’s irreverent, silly, and most importantly, so much fun! Plus, you might even learn something along the way! Here’s to slamming even more pictures – yay!”

Toby Stevens and Ben Shephard, the show’s executive producers, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Alan back to Glasgow to create more Picture Slam. While the mix of pictures always brings surprises, with Alan at the helm, we can guarantee plenty of laughs and loads of fun for viewers to play along with.”

Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, commented: “Our audience will be thrilled to hear that Alan Carr’s Picture Slam is returning for a third series. Alan is a fantastic host who connects brilliantly with contestants, thanks to his infectious energy and sharp wit. This seemingly simple game always delivers hilarious moments and is perfect for the whole family to enjoy together.”
