Paramount Plus renew ‘The Agency’ for a second season.
Paramount+ original drama ‘The Agency’ is returning for a second season after the premiere of the first season attracted 5.1 million viewers worldwide. It makes it the most streamed new series debut in Showtime’s history.
“The success of The Agency is proof that our new Showtime slate is poised to propel Paramount+ to its next phase of growth,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global co-CEO and president/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios. “This achievement is a testament to the creative power of the team led by [executive producers] George Clooney, Jez Butterworth, Joe Wright and David Glasser and our incredible cast including Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jodie Turner-Smith and Jeffrey Wright.”
The Agency centers on a CIA operative (Michael Fassbender) who is abruptly pulled from an undercover mission and reassigned to the agency’s London station. However, when a past love (Jodie Turner-Smith) unexpectedly reenters his life, their rekindled romance forces him to navigate a perilous conflict between his personal feelings, professional duties, and true identity.
Joining Fassbender and Turner-Smith, the series features an impressive ensemble cast, including Richard Gere, Jeffrey Wright, Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Andrew Brooke, Harriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and Reza Brojerdi.
