Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow reunited this past weekend to support their daughter, Apple Martin, as she made her glamorous debut at Paris’ prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes 2024. The annual invitation-only event, held at the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel, introduces young women from prominent families into society while raising funds for charity.

The 20-year-old Apple stunned at the event, wearing a custom strapless blue Valentino gown that reportedly took 750 hours to create, as detailed by Vogue. In a heartwarming moment shared on social media, Apple was seen dancing and laughing with her father, Chris Martin, highlighting their close bond.

Joining the proud parents were Paltrow and Martin’s 17-year-old son Moses Martin and Paltrow’s mother, actor Blythe Danner. The Goop founder shared highlights of the event on Instagram, calling the weekend “special.” Photos included a family shot featuring Moses, Danner, and Martin, as well as a mother-daughter portrait of Paltrow with Apple, showcasing their striking resemblance.

The event draws on an 18th-century tradition of introducing young women into high society, which was revived in Paris in 1994. Apple follows in the footsteps of other celebrity daughters who have attended Le Bal, including Lily Collins, Ava Phillippe (daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe), and Tallulah and Scout Willis (daughters of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore).

This week, Chris Martin is set to return to the UK for a busy schedule. He will film an appearance on The Graham Norton Show and perform at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball, adding to an eventful few days for the Coldplay frontman.

Paltrow and Martin, who were married from 2003 to 2014, famously coined the phrase “consciously uncoupling” during their separation, yet continue to co-parent amicably, as evidenced by their shared celebration of Apple’s milestone moment.
