BBC announce TV coverage of 2024 Olympic Games in Paris

The BBC is providing extensive live TV coverage of Paris 2024 across BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC iPlayer, featuring all 32 events and a nightly highlights program to recap the day’s best moments.

In addition to the broad network TV coverage, BBC iPlayer offers “Olympics Extra,” a dedicated live stream that captures the biggest moments from every event, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in the action.

The highly anticipated opening ceremony will be broadcast live on BBC One and iPlayer starting at 6:30pm on Friday, July 26. Clare Balding will host from the studio, with Hazel Irvine and Andrew Cotter providing commentary. The ceremony promises a spectacular display as each nation arrives along Paris’ iconic River Seine.

Live coverage begins at 8am on Saturday, July 27 on BBC One. From the BBC studio in central Paris, Jeanette Kwakye and JJ Chalmers will greet audiences each morning, followed by Hazel Irvine at 1pm on BBC Two, who will then switch back to BBC One at 2pm after the News at One. Evenings will feature Clare Balding reporting live from the swimming events, with Gabby Logan taking over for the athletics.

Mark Chapman and Isa Guha will present the day’s highlights on “Tonight at the Games” from 10:40pm to midnight on BBC One.

For those seeking even more coverage, “Olympics Extra” on BBC iPlayer and Red Button will ensure audiences don’t miss any key moments, all curated in one place.

Joining the BBC Sport presenters will be an impressive lineup of studio guests, including Beth Tweddle, Chris Hoy, Denise Lewis, Fred Sirieix, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Kate Richardson-Walsh, Katherine Grainger, Laura Kenny, Mark Foster, Michael Johnson, Nicola Adams, Rebecca Adlington, and Tonia Couch, who will all offer their insights and expertise.
