The Version Interview... Chris Ramsey on The Chris Ramsey Show!

The Chris Ramsey Show is the latest original commission by Comedy Central UK.

Filmed in front of a live audience at the London Studios, the show features Ramsey, guest comedians, and a celebrity taking an in-depth look at the influx of random stories sent to Chris on his social media feeds, via a mixture of games, prerecorded items and audience interaction.

We caught up with Chris to find out more...

There's so much competition from comedians to get airtime on tv, what it is about you that appeals to producers?

I don't know! Ask them!

There are very few chatshows which dont have a niche. What's yours and where did the idea(s) come from?

My show is kind of a hybrid of panel and chat and entertainment and game show... but with no points. It's a bit chaotic too at times, which is what makes it so much fun! All the guests left saying they had a brilliant time, so I'm hoping that comes across to the audience too.

How important do you think original commisions are important for comedy central?

It's amazing that Comedy Central have shown such faith and supported me for my own show. It's a brilliant channel and I'm hoping this is the start of a long successful relationship with them... I mean... the clue is in the name guys!? COMEDY!

We love your lineup of guests, you're giving airtime to new and upcoming faces. Describe your ideal guest?

My ideal guest is someone who does everything that my actual guests DID... which is, show up to get involved, throe yourself into the madness of the show and have fun. They were all brilliant!

You've got some great features using some really tv stars, tell us about those?

We have two different kinds of guest on the show. The studio guests who play the games and chat and do the challenges... and then the ON A TRAIN guests... who do the on a train challenges with me each week. The likes of Jamie Laing, Vicky Pattison, Fearne Mcann did the on a train stuff with me and they were all fantastic.

We're located in Leicester. What do you think to our comedy festival?

I love the LCF and I've played it many times. Always great audiences and really enjoyable gigs

Your tour comes up here soon are you up for a pint of the brown stuff?

NO idea what the brown stuff is... sounds absolutely disgusting., but hey, when in rome!

Lastly what can our readers expect when they do come and see you on tour this year ?

My new tour 'Is That Chris Ramsey' is a kind of idiots look at the existential crisis a man child like myself faces when he becomes a Dad. But basally... more stories from my life and audience interaction. Always fun!
