Review: Matt Damon is Bourne again in the return of the hit Jason Bourne franchise.

Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role in Jason Bourne. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures’ Bourne franchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows.

For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series.  Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce.  Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse.

Die-hard fans of the franchise will be thrilled to see Damon back in the lead role and this is very much business as usual for Bourne fans, meaning fast-paced stunt scenes, fantastic locations including Athens, Vegas and London and a classic Bourne plot.

In fact, the film does follow something of an action movie blue print which we’ve seen of late – think Spectre, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation… a series of set pieces, all in a different location, sewed together with a convincing plot and there you have it.

That’s not a criticism though, Matt Damon has never looked more convincing in the role which has become as iconic as Bond in its own right.

Why not relax and enjoy the film with extra-wide leather seats and reserved seating which can be booked online in fully air conditioned surroundings at your local Showcase or Showcase Cinema De Lux?

Guests who book tickets to films playing in the Director’s Hall also have access to the exclusive Director’s Lounge, a great place for a cocktail or snack before or after the film. Director’s Hall tickets entitle guests to a complimentary Director’s Lounge package, which includes a non-alcoholic beverage and a portion of popcorn, freshly popped on site, per person.

A movie like this is made for it.
