Festival No.6 2016 artist in focus... Blossoms.
“‘They’ve cited influences as everyone from Arctic Monkeys to Abba, which sounds implausible… but it’s actually not that far-fetched… They’re banging the drum for indie guitar pop.’” – The Guardian
Festival No. 6 are delighted to welcome back the brilliant Blossoms for 2016.
2015 was something of a seminal year for Stockport five-piece Blossoms, performing at festivals up and down the country including T-in-the-Park, Latitude, Reading and Leeds and Festival No.6.
They also toured relentlessly and sold out several venues including shows at The Village Underground in London and The Ritz in Manchester. But it looks like 2016 is going to be even more stellar. The band were included in the BBC Sound of 2016 list as well as Spotify’s Spotlight on 2016, MTV Brand New for 2016, iTunes/Apple Music New Artists 2016 and tipped by several other sites and publications for more success in 2016. In February, they released their latest EP ‘At Most A Kiss’, produced by James Skelly and Rich Turvey at Parr St. Studios in Liverpool. The emphatic, fast paced title track sees Blossoms channel their unique pop-rock sound with shimmering synths, crashing drums, a catchy bass line and Tom Ogden’s now unmistakable vocals. If you missed them at last year’s No.6, make sure you catch Blossoms brilliant live set this year.
